Facts and figures

96% of victims of rape, sexual assault and abuse are women and girls. This is why our emotional support service currently offers support for female survivors of sexual violence, and we refer men to Survivors UK {link to www.survivorsuk.org}. We support both male and female children who have suffered sexual abuse, and families and friends of female survivors receiving our support.  Male survivors can receive support via our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service (ISVA)

Our helpline is staffed by fully trained volunteer support staff. Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre is reliant on volunteers to deliver support to affected women and girls throughout Gloucestershire

We see an increase in demand for our service whenever the media reports on high profile cases, or sexual assault or abuse is featured in a popular drama.
