Becoming a Trustee

Do you feel inspired to help us help survivors of sexual abuse, rape and sexual violence thrive in their lives - and not just survive?? If so, then you could be just the sort of person we're looking for, and we could be the charity you would like to get involved with and to feel passionate about. 

Gloucestershire Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre (GRASAC) is a registered charity which supports anyone from Gloucestershire who has experienced or are experiencing sexual abuse, but in particular women and girls as the largest group of survivors. 

If you are interested in governance and being involved in setting our strategic direction and development, please get in touch to find out more about current vacancies on our Board of Trustees. We welcome and encourage applicants from all walks of life to offer insight and a broad perspective and to better represent the service users we serve. This position is unpaid, but costs relating to your board duties will be covered. 

What we ask of you: 

  • To attend board of trustees (currently every two months). 
  • Participate in training and an annual away-day 
  • Be actively involved in between trustee meetings by reading meeting papers and managing ad hoc issues or decisions 
  • Be supportive of and attend GRASAC events and activities
  • Commit to at least two years of service
