At Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre we provide confidential and non-judgemental support for all survivors of sexual violence within Gloucestershire (Gloucester, Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean, Stroud and Tewkesbury)
GRASAC provides a personalised Pathway of trauma stabilisation and recovery services, offering help in understanding our responses to trauma and using psychoeducation to help prepare people for their support journey. This includes up to 12 weeks of Specialist Support work at GRASAC, along with access to group work and activities, and counselling/EMDR with our Partner GCS with further support offered by our online Waiting Well service.
What happens after I/professional submit a referral?
We will arrange a time to meet with you for an initial assessment. During this meeting, you will have the opportunity to find out more about our services and the support we can provide. We will complete a risk and needs assessment, discuss the options available to you, and work together to develop a support plan tailored to your needs and goals. There is currently a waiting time of up to 9 months for some of our adult one-to-one services and a 12 week wait for our young person's Specialist Support. Waiting times can vary depending on demand and available capacity, and we will discuss the expected waiting time with you following your assessment. You will not be left without support while you are waiting.
Following your assessment, you can access our online Waiting Well service immediately, which provides information, resources and activities to support you while you wait for Specialist Support Work or other elements of your pathway. We regularly review our waiting lists and capacity and will keep you informed about your support options.
